In this paper, we propose the construct of digital capabilities and offer a multi-item scale to measure indicators that we have developed, associated with each of the dimensions that would conform to the digital capability
construct in firms (ORG-DIGCAP).
We conceptualize the development of digital capabilities in firms as a gradual process that entails three dimensions: learning about digital transformation, eagerness to adopt digital technologies and tools, and integration of such digital endeavors in such a manner that digital technologies become part of the
day-to-day activities and operations of the firm.
We propose the digital capabilities construct, with its three dimensions, as follows: the easiness by which companies engage in the process of learning, adopting and integrating the use of digital technologies. We describe the learning, adopting, and integrating dimensions and the proposed sub-dimensions that shape each of them.
